Who we are

We are a forest farm and homestead located in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian mountains, in rural Athens County, Ohio. We care for over 800 mushroom logs under a forest canopy, which we source through sustainable forest management practices. Our operation has been certified through United Plant Savers’ Forest Grown Verification program since 2024. We cultivate a variety of culinary and medicinal mushrooms such as Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Turkey Tail, Shiitake, and Oyster. As vendors at the Athens Farmer’s Market since 2023, we offer seasonal fresh mushrooms, mushroom extracts, powders, and even paper made from Turkey Tail mushrooms!

In addition providing people with fresh mushrooms, we are also very active in educating the community on how to cultivate their own mushrooms at home. We partner with organizations such as the Athens County Public Libraries and Rural Action to teach inoculation workshops where participants get the hands-on experience of inoculating their own log. With demonstrations at the Ohio Pawpaw Festival, Fall Fungi Festival, and the Southern Ohio Forest Farming Conference we have been able to educate even larger audiences about farming mushrooms in a forest setting.

We’re growing more than just mushrooms on our farm. As stewards of our land, we feel called to cultivate a wide variety of medicinal plants and flowers. We have been growing various native and medicinal plants since the birth of our homestead in 2020, and our gardens just keep growing. Tending the Earth and developing relationships with the trees and plants around us, have us carefully working to manage our forest.

As we continue to deepen our understanding of the plants, studying plants scientifically and sitting and just being with the plants and fungi around us, we grow our herbal knowledge and our herbal farm. We are dedicated lifelong learners with open hearts. We grow different foods and vegetables, as well as cut flowers.

Our mission is to sustainably provide food, fun, and an organically, lovingly grown herbal and fungal farmacy, while helping educate our community, and ourselves.

We are all connected, like the mycelium in the soil.
